Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Classic Car Restoration Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of classic vehicles, a strong skill set in mechanical, bodywork, re-fit, and a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with our restoration team to breathe new life into vintage cars, ensuring they are restored to their former glory while maintaining the integrity of their original design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full mechanical and structural restorations on a variety of classic vehicles, including engine rebuilds, transmission overhauls, and suspension work.
- Conduct body repairs and metalwork, including welding, panel replacement, and rust removal.
- Manage project timelines and work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.
- Collaborate with the team to plan, execute, and troubleshoot complex restoration projects.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients regarding the restoration process and vehicle care.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in classic car restoration or a related field (5+ years preferred).
- Proficient in mechanical repairs, engine rebuilds, and electrical systems for classic vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of automotive bodywork, including metal fabrication, welding.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for vintage cars and automotive history.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with clients to understand their vision for their vehicle.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive various classic cars.
- Relevant certifications or trade qualifications (e.g., in auto mechanics or bodywork) are an advantage.
